DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran is in the headlines due to one of his statements. Maran had said, ‘People from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh who learn only Hindi. They go to Tamil Nadu for construction work. They do small jobs like cleaning roads and toilets.

This statement of Dayanidhi Maran is from 2019.
However, in many media reports it has been shared as recent.
After Dayanidhi Maran’s statement came out, BJP leaders took the INDIA alliance to task by sharing it. In such a situation, the question arises that when and how did this video of 2019 surface? How did the situation of confusion arise?

In fact, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala had raised questions on the INDIA alliance while sharing this video of Maran on X on Saturday. Shahzad Poonawala did not mention anywhere in his post that this video of Maran was from 2019.

Shehzad Poonawala wrote in his tweet –

‘Once again an attempt to play the divide and rule card, first Rahul Gandhi insulted North Indian voters, then Revanth Reddy abused Bihar DNA, then DMK MP Senthil Kumar said “cow urine states”, now Dayanidhi Maran Insulted Hindi speaking North Indians.

Abusing Hindus/Sanatan, then playing the card of divide and rule is the DNA of INDIA.

Will Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav, Lalu Yadav, Congress, SP, Akhilesh Yadav still pretend that this is not happening? When will they take a stand?’

Union Minister Giriraj Singh also tweeted this statement of Dayanidhi Maran and wrote-

‘DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran says that Hindi speaking people from UP/Bihar come to Tamil Nadu and clean roads and toilets. Do Bihar Chief Ministers Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav agree with their coalition partner’s opinion on Hindi speaking people? He should clarify why DMK and INDIA alliance has so much hatred for Hindi speaking Bihari brothers and sisters?
